I make stuff. And I teach stuff too. I'm from beautiful Suffolk in England and this is where I have grown up and where I plan to stay. I began my artistic career watching 'HartBeat' with the wonderful Tony Hart and it is here I found my artistic roots. I went through high school believing that because I wasn't "much of a drawer" (my own words) and I couldn't paint very well that I wasn't really cut out to be an artist. I did the same at sixth form eventually realising at the age of 18 that academia was not me and finally decided to do a BTEC in art & design. It all went from there really. I went on to do a Fine Art course and once graduated realised that I wanted to be a teacher. I trained as a lecturer graduating 2008 and since have been teaching and creating my own brand. CuppaTeaAndCake.
Textiles is what I do. I print fabric, sew, knit, crochet, embroider and I draw a lot too. I like tea, you'll find most of the stuff I create is related to it and cake and domesticity. I also like to bake, listen to Radio 4, watch Gardener's World (though I wish Monty Don would return) read books and visit wonderful places around me and any charity shops, antiques shops or fabric shops I can find.
I make things that I want and so they are a pleasure to create and I have some hope that there are other people out there, like me who will want them too.
